Motor Cycling

1958-I began motor-cycling . My first bike was a 1954 125cc two stroke BSA Bantam
         on which I passed my riding test and owned for 15 months.
1959-I part exchanged the Bantam for a 1956 DMW 250cc 2 strokeTwin
          and the year I joined the Manchester Aces Motorcycle Club.
1961-DMW exchanged for new Triumph TR5 650cc Twin
1963- 1971 The TR5 was sold and there was no involvement in bikes during this period
                    as married life and kids took over. Lost contact with the Manchester Aces Club
                    during this period as we moved to Gloucestershire and then Scotland
1971-Picked up with the bikes again, all be it in a small way with a new Honda 50cc step-thru ,
          which was used for commuting to work.
1973-Honda part exchanged for new MZ 250cc Sports.
1976-Was gifted a 1935(?) 250cc Panther, by a work colleague. In need of some refurbishment.
1977-Bought new Honda 400cc 4 cylinder
1978-Sold Honda 400 and bought Honda 550cc 4 cylinder.
         Also this year bought a 1957 Francis Barnett(197cc) in a box as a rebuild project.
1979-Purchased a 1959 AMC Francis Barnett(175cc).
        Purchased a 1964 Triumph T21(350cc).
1980-Part exchanged Honda 550 for a new Honda 400 Twin
1985-Purchased secondhand 1983 Honda CX500EC Sports
1987-Purchased a 1958 James(197cc)

2003-Sold 1957 Francis Barnett(197cc) -April

2004-Sold 1964 Triumph T21(350cc) - May

2004-Sold 1959 AMC Francis Barnett(175cc) - September

2005-Sold 1935(?) 250cc Panther - March
